Don’t Let Your County Commissioners Ban Menthol Cigarettes and Flavored Dip!

In an effort to curb youth vaping, Multnomah County Commissioners are considering banning all flavored tobacco products, including menthol cigarettes and wintergreen dip.  This proposal goes too far!

The ban on menthol cigarettes and flavored smokeless tobacco would go well beyond the Federal Government’s recently announced plan to remove flavored e-cigarettes from the market.

Speak out today! Tell the County Board of Commissioners to focus on the youth vaping issue and NOT to over-extend a ban to traditional tobacco products or products authorized by the FDA.

Tell Your County Commissioners:

  • Efforts to address youth vaping should NOT overextend to traditional tobacco products, or to products that the FDA authorizes.
  • The age to buy any tobacco product in the state is already 21 years old.
  • Banning menthol cigarettes, and flavored dip and cigars, unfairly limits adult tobacco consumers’ choices.
  • This broad ban goes too far!
